We are excited that our editorial shoot is featured on Wedding Sparrow. The concept for the shoot was Serene Japanese Spring and was inspired by my trip to Tokyo during the peak of blooming cherry blossoms. The “new beginnings” feelings ushered in by the Spring season felt relevant for my upcoming business launch.
The floral design highlighted spring elements and blooming branches, such as dogwood, Japanese sweet pea, Pieris japonica, and hellebores, arranged in modern stoneware vessels. The smaller cocktail pieces were arranged in an ikebana-style. The texture of the Theoni Collection Nora Snow linen mirrored the shape of the dogwood blooms in the centerpieces. Tabletop rentals featured Theoni’s new California Slate Blue plates, set with The Ark’s Sirena Blue Opal plates, which highlighted a spring floral motif.
The invitation suite design featured original artwork by Elsa Madeline, and was inspired by Japanese calligraphy brushstrokes and x-ray florals. This artwork also was mirrored in the custom painted rice paper applique on the square wedding cake by Pretty Please Bakeshop.
Other items featured in the shoot were from Theoni Collections new 2024 collection, including the brand new Fender Bar.
Japanese Garden elements were weaved throughout many details, including the rippling water in the smaller dining table arrangements, and the escort display. The escort table featured individual escort cards artfully set atop black stones and natural moss with beautiful spring florals. Stepping away from the ubiquitous escort wall concept, we designed a dynamic and interactive escort table where guests would embark on a little hunt to find their name in this tabletop Japanese garden display.
